Grandpa's Lunch Vs. Mom's Lunch

My son stayed over at his Grandpa Rod's yesterday since his sister Libby has been sick. Bless my dad for always helping. He told me he would take Lake to school today and pack him a lunch. I decided I better pack a lunch and drop it off at the school just in case my dad forgot.

I got to the school and walked into Lake's classroom. I handed him his lunch and he said, "Mommy, Grandpa already packed me a lunch." I then said, "Really, lets see what Grandpa packed you." Right when I saw what was in the lunch box (Gift bag) I realized why my son liked Grandpa's lunch more than mine. It consisted of everything you would want from a gas station:

Grandpa's Lunch:
1. A half empty bottle of Coca-Cola which Lake probably drank on the way to school.
2. Hostess Snowballs
3. Hostess Donuts
4. Brownie
5. Chips
6. Boston Baked Beans (these are candy)
7. Sucker, smarties, and tootsie rolls
8. Apple (which was probably for the teacher)

My Lunch:
1. Lunchable with meat, cheese, and crackers
2. Low Sugar Capri-sun
3. Apple
4. Sunchips
5. Mandarin Oranges

Are we seeing the difference here?

Truth of it is, I was a little jealous that Lake had the lunch I have secretly always wanted. So, as any good mother would do.........I swapped the lunches and decided to take one for the team and eat the snowballs for him.

Thanks for packing his lunch Grandpa, but next time if you are going to pack him a lunch, pack one for me too.

  2. Chanel, that is hilarious! Grandparents exist to spoil their grandchildren, I guess.

  4. Cool. I enjoyed reading your post. It's cute and sweet. But don't feel so down because that's one good thing that your son is enjoying to bring a pack lunch. Maybe try to pack another one for him.
